Retained FEC collection scopes and outcomes

Collection-level scope, counts and evidence for fec_source_records. Join collection_id to that table to distinguish observed records from empty results and uncollected populations. Join source_family to fec_source_catalog for the official access routes. Counts are stored as strings; cast explicitly for arithmetic.

Coverage. Sampled. Selected FEC originals and queries retain their requested scope and outcome. Rows with NULL profile are caller coverage, refusal or context records, not parsed collections or successful empty queries. Profile bulk lists files rather than their rows. The fec_collection_cycles view gives cycles stated by bulk directory URLs. This metadata does not establish complete official FEC history. (measured 2026-09-30)

Column Type Description
collection_id VARCHAR Caller-supplied label unique within the selected manifest. Join to fec_source_records.collection_id.
source_family VARCHAR Caller-selected official FEC source-family identifier, checked against the inventory. Join to fec_source_catalog.source_family; this classification is not independently inferred from source content.
profile VARCHAR Provider reader profile: committee, candidate, filing, legal, audit, bulk, positional, agency, agency-document, postgres or document. NULL for caller disposition/context rows, which were not parsed by a provider profile.
source_system_id VARCHAR Provider identifier for the source system; NULL for caller disposition/context rows.
source_state_scope VARCHAR Provider observation scope, such as observed-crawl; this does not imply a frozen publisher snapshot.
record_count VARCHAR Emitted source-record count as a decimal integer string. A metadata-only row emits zero; its unknown source population count remains NULL in receiverDisposition.sourceRecordCount.
relationship_count VARCHAR Number of relationship observations emitted from this collection, including explicit absence states rather than only positive edges.
record_outcome VARCHAR Provider record outcome for parsed inputs. Metadata-only rows instead state retained_unparsed, refused, unresolved, inventory_only or selection_context; none means successful empty parsing.
requested_scope_json VARCHAR JSON object preserving the query, source selection or bounds requested for this collection.
coverage_limits_json VARCHAR JSON value preserving provider-stated coverage limits for the selected input.
collection_outcome_json VARCHAR Complete provider outcome for parsed inputs, including tableFieldMapping and verified tableFieldDefinitions when selected. Optional callerContext holds separately hash-verified source/coverage facts. Metadata-only rows contain receiverDisposition and providerOutcome:null; they make no source parsing claim.
artifact_sha256 VARCHAR Digest of the verified provider source-release artifact; null for direct retained-query input that has no release artifact.
