Nominations

One row per nomination or part, as the Congress.gov nomination list route states it, keyed (congress, citation); the citation carries the part number. All columns are stored as VARCHAR.

Coverage. Sampled. Distinct 119th-Congress nomination-list identities from retained list pages. The pages repeat some identical records, so a pagination total does not prove a stable or complete population. Latest-action fields only: not nominee details, action histories, person entities or inferred confirmation outcomes. Receipts: fork-execution-2026-09-21/legislative-publication-summary.json, legislative-seeds/sealed-candidates.json and legislative-mcp-audit/. (measured 2026-09-21)

Data quality. The shared Congress index reader pools complete walks with varied page sizes, keyed by (congress, citation), keeping each identity's newest updateDate. A clean walk or a pool matching the declared total settles the query. A population change restarts pooling; incomplete or inconsistent walks exhaust the source reader's bounded attempts and fail before output is replaced. The list carries the latest action only, not the action history. is_civilian is read again from every row's stored nomination_type_json each run, so a nomination the list no longer names follows the rule as well (PN1189 and PN1266, both military).

Column Type Description
citation VARCHAR The publisher's citation, its own display key, with the part where one exists (PN730-20).
congress VARCHAR The numbered Congress the nomination was received in.
number VARCHAR The PN number.
part_number VARCHAR The part number, as the publisher spells it.
description VARCHAR The publisher's description of the nomination.
organization VARCHAR The organization the nominee would serve in.
received_date VARCHAR The date the Senate received the nomination.
is_civilian VARCHAR Whether the nomination is civilian, as the publisher's nominationType states it: true where it states isCivilian true (or isMilitary false), false where it states isMilitary true (or isCivilian false). The list route states exactly one of the two keys (2,287 of 2,287 rows of the 119th, 2026-10-03). NULL where it states neither, or both with contradicting values; nomination_type_json keeps what it stated, so is_civilian IS NULL AND nomination_type_json IS NOT NULL counts the contradictions.
nomination_type_json VARCHAR The publisher's nominationType object, as JSON.
latest_action_date VARCHAR Date of the publisher's latestAction entry.
latest_action_text VARCHAR Text of the publisher's latestAction entry.
update_date VARCHAR The publisher's updateDate; the merge prefers the larger value.
url VARCHAR The publisher's own URL for this nomination.
